We invite you to enthusiastically approach your yoga practice!
We encourage you to use care when determining
your own ability to do the exercises offered in
these classes. Do not aggravate an existing injury.
If you have a doubt as to whether yoga would be
recommended if you have a particular injury or
condition, please consult your health care professional.
The instruction and advice presented at this yoga
class is not meant to be used in lieu of professional
medical or psychological care for the treatment
of any condition.
- Please bring a sticky mat or towel.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing that does
not constrict your waist (no belts). You
might want to bring a sweatshirt in order to
stay warm during deep relaxation.
- Yoga is best practiced barefoot.
- Turn off your cell phone.
- Arrive ten minutes early to relax on your
back and rest your eyes or gently stretch
tight muscles.
- Communicate any existing medical conditions
or injuries to your instructor so that
helpful adjustments can be made and distressing
practices avoided.
- Practice yoga with an empty belly. Eat a large
meal 2-3 hours before a class. A small snack
or juice is fine up to one hour before your
practice. Drink lots of water during the day
before and after you finish your practice.
There are certain limitations
to the practice of yoga
for pregnant and menstruating women. Please
read about this or ask the instructor.
