Kundalini Yoga

"On such things as matter we have all been wrong, what we have called matter is energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the senses. There is no matter." - Einstein

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, PhD, (Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji) is the fast track for experiencing matter-less-ness. It combines strength-building asanas with heart opening meditations giving one the power of the warrior and heart of the saint. It is a complete practice, utilizing all of the goodies found in many forms of yoga: mantra, meditation, pranayama, asana, and many other techniques and suggestions. Kundalini yoga is a practice that works the chakra system, balances and purifies the nadis (energy pathways), the ten bodies as it aligns the energies of the body.

It has a massive impact on the glandular systems of the body and has palpable immediate effects. The sequences taught by Yogi Bhajan, called kriyas are comprehensive and specific. Depending on the kriya, you might experience abundant, directed energy or a feeling of deep relaxation. Many of the kriyas are also geared towards affecting specific organs, muscular groups or mental states.

Kundalini yoga is a Raja Yoga, a royal path. This yoga works with the power of Kundalini Shakti, the serpent power fundamental to the Tantric tradition. It uses sound vibration to cut through opposing energies to create trines in your life, to increase your ability to create unstopping diagonal energies in your life. You will bring together your power of awareness and potential as a human individual in the Aquarian Age.

The Five Sutras of the Aquarian Age

  • Understand through compassion; otherwise you might misunderstand the times.
  • Recognize that the other person is you.
  • When the time is on you, start and the pressure will be off.
  • There is a way through every block.
  • Vibrate the cosmos; the cosmos shall clear the path.

"The art of healing, the art of ecstasy, the art of G-d-consciousness has millions of names in mystic terms. It has to do with rhythm and reality. When the body is rhythm, there is ease. When the body, or any part of the body goes out of rhythm, there is dis-ease. Disease is nothing but an out-of-rhythm body. When the mind is out of rhythm, there is neither a body nor a soul, because without the mind there is no reality." - Yogi Bhajan

Kundalini yoga is for householders. It is to be practiced by anyone, including by those with careers and lovers and children. You can practice it at home or in the office, you can even do a little meditative practice on the subway.
