The Human-Dolphin Connection
Date TBD

Join Zemach Zohar, Dages, and Amlas for this adventure of a lifetime as we dive into the depths of the rich Caribbean Sea and the unfolding mysteries of Self communicating with Nature in the Human-Dolphin Connection. These striking and jovial creatures remind us of the relationship between humans and mammals that extends through thousands of years of history, culture and mythology. From Aristotle to Herodotus, the dolphin has aroused the praise and curiosity of poets, naturalists, philosophers, and artists from around the world and throughout history.

Many people have experienced that contact with these sentient beings has therapeutic effects on our physiology and our spiritual/emotional state. When they interact with humans in their native environment, dolphins seem to revel in obvious joy. Swimmers often report a feeling of deep relaxation, even bliss. Dolphins emit high frequency sonar, which we hear as a series of clicks and whistles. The dolphin's ability to induce this euphoric state in us is most apparent when these sounds are transmitted to us through water.

In this unique retreat experience, we will spend the optimum amount of quality time with these special creatures. Our experience will be bolstered and sustained by the increased sensitivity developed through the daily practice of yoga, meditation, and conscious eating. People from every walk of life from 3 months old to 80 years come to experience this unique combination of:

  • Swimming, snorkeling and frolicking in warm, clear aquamarine unpolluted waters and deserted beaches
  • Cruising and relaxing on the boat
  • A meditative natural environment on an island known
for its healing energies, Atlantean legends, and
    unique dolphins
  • Visits to the Atlantis Stones
  • Coral reef exploration with hundreds of tropical fish
  • Heart-opening and revitalizing yoga
  • Wholesome and healing food
  • Picnic lunches on the boat or a deserted island beach
  • Connecting with the free, joyful dolphins in a relaxed
way that supports respectful and sensitive interaction
with time for the mystery to unfold!

All levels of swimmers and non-swimmers are welcome. We provide support for those who are aquatically challenged, including snorkel instruction and a variety of flotation devices. Some people even tune into the dolphins from the boat. We have supported many to move into new possibilities and enjoyment of swimming and snorkeling.

Each trip affords us the opportunity to spontaneously create the day. When we are not watching or interacting with the dolphins we may be engaged in sharing, meditation, song, silence, swimming, snorkeling, having lunch, napping, alone time or relaxing on a deserted beach. The boat has ample space to move around with lots of shade. We have found that each day has its own unique quality and reflects what the dolphins and we bring to it. A celebration!

"This has been a place of magic beyond words..."
- Mikki, Michigan

The Dolphins:
"Dolphin reminds us to tune in to the essence of life by taking a deep breath & relaxing. Dolphin also helps us tune-in to our own rhythm and become one with 'Mother Nature's' rhythm. This medicine teaches us to ride the waves of laughter and spread joy throughout the world."
"Dolphin," The Medicine Cards Jamie Sams.

This is a unique opportunity for those who wish to experience the ultimate human-dolphin connection with the best conditions in the world. Our intention is always to connect with the dolphins with respect and awareness. We do not feed, chase or do anything that might disrupt their natural behavior. Only at the dolphins' invitation do we interact with them. The dolphins are free and it is up to them as to when the connection happens; how and when they may approach, communicate and interact with you. It's a small group, so you are assured the best possible dolphin interaction. You will receive personal facilitation and support.

It seems that wherever there is ocean there are dolphins of many different varieties. Our experience has shown that the Bahamas provides the best opportunity to connect intimately with dolphins in the wild as these dolphins choose to connect with us on a regular basis. The conditions are also perfect: warm, clear, shallow water and lots of nature and space. In this area over 100 dolphins are in the main pod, usually they are in groups of 2-8 when we connect with them.

All staff are educated and experienced in the practice of 'minimal intrusion.' Like any wilderness excursion it is important that it be undertaken with awareness and sensitivity. The Dolphin Connection and swim programs are in the Bahamas as the dolphin experiences there, the past nine years, have been great!

The organization contributes to Earth Island Institute and other organizations that actively campaign for the protection and freedom of dolphins.

The Catamaran:
Each day we will go out in our catamaran, “Dolphin Quest,” to connect with the dolphins. It is a gentle introduction to the beauty of being out on the ocean. The boat is very comfortable inside and out, with plenty of places to relax in the shade or sun, wide rear steps give easy entry in and out of the water, mostly we will use the quiet motors and when we have a breeze we will sail along.....

Using our own catamaran boat means we can be out most of the day being with the dolphins, cruising and exploring, having lunch on a deserted beach or coral reef snorkeling. It's great having the freedom to be spontaneous and 'go with the flow'. We are able to stay out longer when something wonderful is happening.

Accommodation:
The program includes six nights accommodation in the fishing village of Porgy Bay and just 200 yards from a beautiful beach. The rooms are newly built and all are within 25 yards of the ocean. All rooms are newly furnished with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and wonderful sunrise views. Affording the ultimate original experience, the island is small and there are few tourists, the Islanders are open and friendly, the children are delightful. Program cost is based on double occupancy, sharing a room with a partner, friend, or another like hearted participant. There are also some private single rooms available, if you prefer not to share.

Family Friendly Environment
We encourage and welcome children. We enjoy their spontaneity, as do the dolphins. Usually children don't get bored as the program is interactive and educational. Children from infants to teenagers blossom and gain self-confidence while expanding their horizons. This adventure is a time for lots of laughter, play and the special connection between children, the dolphins, and adults.

Meals
Meals are served in the group dining room in the main group house, where we can enjoy our meals outside on the terrace, overlooking the bay. Three nourishing meals are provided each day on the island, including vegetarian food (chicken or fish options available too), except one evening out which gives you the opportunity to experience Caribbean food and island music. Our enjoyment of meals will be enhanced by group sessions exploring Whole Living Foods Nutrition Science, including the hows and whys of loving your temple and conscious eating.

Yoga and Meditation
Every morning before breakfast there is a Hatha or Kundalini Yoga class, to stretch, strengthen and revitalize the ten bodies with a synthesis of postures, sound, imagery, and meditation. We will build relationship between our unique physical, emotional and spiritual components in these special classes of asana (postures), pranayama (breath), and meditation designed to strengthen the nervous system, purify the blood, and flood the heart with loving awareness. In addition to feeling great, a daily Yoga practice will help you to:

  • Cleanse your body’s tissues
  • Increase circulation and lung capacity
  • Decrease long and short term effects of stress
  • Balance metabolism
  • Regulate sleep and enjoy increased energy

And so much more....

Participants are encouraged to come as they are, as this retreat is open to all levels regardless of prior experience in Yoga. Please invite your non-yoga family and friends to come with you. There are often group members who are not yoga practitioners, so don't let that stop you! The combination of Yoga, healthy food, cruising and relaxing on the boat, the warm aquamarine ocean, and being with the Dolphins makes for a magical day...

Is this adventure for you?
This is not a resort hotel or cruise ship type of experience. It is a group retreat/wilderness experience program providing a supportive and loving environment to connect with ourselves, each other, the dolphins and the ocean.

Group participants usually help out with things like the dishes, etc. It often feels like we have become a 'pod' ourselves after a couple of days. It can be a very powerful, heartfelt experience. There is laughter and tears. Many great new friendships are made. Most people have a great time during this adventure; however, it is not for everyone. If you have concerns or questions, please email us at

The island is small and quiet with few tourists. The Islanders are open and friendly, the children are delightful.

"None of us were ready to break the bond of magic that occurs there..." - Robert, New Orleans
